Tire specifications
Automotive Share | Tire specifications | topbengkel.blogspot.com There are a lot of important information printed on the sidewall of a tire. Printed name of the tire, size, type of tubeless or tube type, degree / level of tire, speed limits, load limits, limits of wind pressure, warnings and safety advice and more. Please click on the image area to understand the tires on the tire information in detail. (under the tire image in a sequence you can read about the summary information about the tire specification).
The writing on the tire sidewall Passenger
Example: 215/65R15 89H
"215" width tires: is the width between the wall-side one to the other sidewall in millimeters. These measurements can produce different sizes depending on the width of the rim / wheel that is attached: it will increase the width when mounted on a wide rim, and vice versa. However, the width of the writing on the wall-side in a tire is measured with a pair of wide rim in accordance with the recommendations of tire manufacturer.
"65" Aspect Ratio: the ratio / height ratio between the width of the tire cross section; "65" means the tire is 65% higher than the width of the tire cross section.
"R" construction: how the layer is arranged inside the tire (carcass) tires. "R" means radial. If the "B" means the tire has a belt construction bias (bias Belted). If the "D" it means diagonal bias construction is the (diagonal bias).
"15" rim diameter: the diameter of the rim in inches.
"89" load index: in accordance with industry standard tire then the tire has a load limit of 580 pounds. There are different levels of the limit load on the tire according to its kind. Limit the charge is written using the units lbs. (lb) and kilograms (pounds), the limit wind pressure in PSI (pounds per square inch) and since kPa (kilopascals).
"H" speed limit: in accordance with industry standard tire then the tire has a speed limit reaches 210 kilometers per hour. There are differences in the placement of text symbols such as the speed limit on the legacy system was written as 215/65HR15. There are different levels of speed limits on the tires according to its kind.
Writing "DOT" means the tire meets the requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT) government of the United States. Adjacent to the words "DOT" is the tire's serial number, which is a combination of numbers and letters of the alphabet are arrayed to 11 characters.
On the wall beside the well-written yarn type and number of layers contained in the sidewall and tread.
Levels of tires: Uniform Tire Quality system System (UTQG)
Except for snow tires, the DOT requires tire manufacturers to differentiate tires for passenger cars based on three types of capability: for durability / mileage, traction and temperature resistance.
Mileage Over 100 - better 100 - Normal Less than 100 - less Depth mileage / durability is based on testing at controlled conditions supervised by the government (DOT) in a special road track that has been determined. A tire with a level of 200 will be able to achieve two-fold compared to a tire with a level of 100 if the test on the track that particular road. However, the fact that the durability of the tire is very diverse depending on the nature / how to drive, type of car use and road conditions. Note: Depth mileage only used as a comparison by the tire manufacturer of one product with another product type. This level is not valid as a comparison between a single tire manufacturer with other tire manufacturers.
traction
A - Best B - Average - Average C - On the receive
Depth is the traction on the wet road braking capabilities that were tested in a supervised and controlled conditions specified by the government (DOT) on the trajectory of a special road which has been determined. Rankings are based traction by braking suddenly testing; no attention in terms of cornering ability.

Limit Load Index & Speed Limit
Temperature levels are intended to increase the hot strength of the tire when tested in the laboratory tests with special tires under controlled conditions. Under conditions of high temperatures for long periods of time can cause changes in material properties of the tire which can then reduce the durability of the tire. At very high temperature conditions can also cause tire damage. U.S. government regulations require that all tires must have a minimum level of heat Grade C.
Speed index is the maximum speed limit for passenger car tires. In the truck tire Small / Light Truck index included no speed. Here is the index table velocity in units of kilometers. Speed index system is used by all tire manufacturers.
Symbol Speed Maximum Speed
B 50 Km / Hour
F 80 Km / Hour
G 100 Km / Hour
N 140 Km / Hour
S 180 Km / Hour
T 190 Km / Hour
U 200 Km / Hour
H 210 Km / Hour
V 240 Km / Hour
Z> 240 Km / Hour
The writing on the tire sidewall Small Truck / Light Truck
"LT" stands for Light Truck (small truck)
"LT235/85R16" is the system size on Light Truck tires.
"LOAD RANGE D" is the symbol of the limit load and wind pressure.
"RADIAL" means that the tire has radial construction.
"MAX. LOAD SINGLE 2623 lbs. AT 65 psi COLD "means the allowable load limit on the minimum allowable wind pressure measured in the cold / room temperature when mounting tires mounted on double / dual spacing. Other writings listed on the tire sidewall Light Trucks same meaning as described in passenger car tires.
